[Journal Club] Evaporation Barrier for Dark Matter in Celestial Bodies

Celestial objects have been utilized to explore the sub-GeV dark matter regime, which poses a challenge for direct detection. However, in this scenario, the evaporation effects may impose lower limits on the dark matter mass in compact objects. Drawing from the work of Rebecca Leane and Juri Smirnov (2303.01516), we will discuss the "evaporation barrier" effect, which can assist in evading the evaporation effect and enable us to expand the search for light mass dark matter in celestial bodies.
